Join us as we worship with Bishop Kym Lucas for Epiphany Sunday.
Join us to commemorate the New Year’s Eve tradition many African slaves took part in to spend time with their communities and families while they waited to find out what the new year would bring for them— who would be sold and who would stay on. This is an evening of food, worship and togetherness!
Church of the Holy Redeemer will be making a pilgrimage to the site of the Sand Creek Massacre, the Amache National Historic Site and the site in Limon where Preston “John” Porter Jr. was murdered by lynching. If you are interested in joining us, please email office@holyredeemerdenver.org

Holy Redeemer, in partnership with the Colorado Lynching Memorial Project, will be commemorating the life of 15-year-old Preston “John” Porter, Jr. We will be remembering his murder on November 16, 1900. He was tortured in Denver into confessing a crime he did not commit and then transported to Limon, Colorado where he was lynched.
Stay tuned for more details about this event.
Come by and pick up your pecan or sweet potato pie! Just in time for Thanksgiving, we will be selling pies, cookies and other treats through the day. Make sure to get here early! We will also have hot dogs and chili available to purchase for lunch. Local artisans may be there peddling their goods as well!
“Choteau Creek: A Sioux Reminiscence” by Joseph Iron Eye Dudley
This lovely book, based on true stories from the author’s childhood near the Santee and Yankton Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, will be our November book study. It is widely available on Amazon and from other book sellers. Book study will begin the first week of November through Advent, on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. Holy Redeemer has long-standing connections to the Santee and Yankton Sioux community. If you would like the church to order you a copy, email office@holyredeemerdenver.org

Stepping from the Past into the Future
Join us as we honor our past, thanking all who came before us. We will say good-bye to our Rectory and recognize that it provided well for many families and the church. It will continue to do so in a new capacity as we answer the call to start the Pauli Murray Social Justice Coalition Center in the heart of Whittier.
Easter Celebration Service and Brunch
Sunday, April 17th at 10:00am
Join us for a traditional Easter service celebrating Christ’s resurrection!
The service will be followed by an Easter brunch potluck. Main dishes and some sides will be provided as well as drinks. Please bring your favorite dish to share.
Join us as we celebrate this most ancient Christian ritual awaiting Jesus’ return to life abundantly, starting in the courtyard with the lighting of fire and the Paschal Candle, and continuing from darkness to the light of resurrection.
With today’s service we will honor Jesus’ execution by crucifixion and entry into death.
We will meet at the church at 6:00pm and travel through the neighborhood to honor those who have died violent deaths at four locations in the Whittier Neighborhood. We will return to the church for the Good Friday worship service, which will begin at 7:00pm.
A brief Morning Prayer service each day of Holy Week starting at 8:00am over Zoom.
We will commemorate the last supper that Jesus celebrated with his disciples by holding an Agape Meal within the service.
For those worshiping at home, please bring your own simple meal to join us (suggestions: soup, cheese, olives, dried fruit, bread, and wine). We will then wash each others’ feet and we invite those at home to mindfully wash their hands or the feet of their family members. The service will conclude with a stripping of the altar in preparation for Good Friday.

Join us in reading this New York Times Bestseller.
” Wilkerson’s book is about how brutal misperceptions about race have disfigured the American experiment. This is a topic that major historians and novelists have examined from many angles, with care, anger, deep feeling and sometimes simmering wit,” — Dwight Garner, NYT, July 31, 2020.
We meet over Zoom on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm to discuss and analyze this award winning book written by Isabel Wilkerson, author of The Warmth of Other Suns.
Join us as we watch a film together and discuss the ramifications of how society treats (and mistreats) particular people and groups. These conversations can be difficult but they are necessary for all of us to move forward into a season of love.
