The Altar Guild members perform a silent ministry preparing the altars for the weekly Eucharist celebration as well as for baptisms, memorial services and weddings. They also assist with the holidays’ decorations to make the church look beautiful and festival. They try their best to create visual beauty that encourage people to center their thoughts and hearts on seeking God and peace.
In addition to the preparation of God’s tables, the Altar Guild is responsible for cleaning and polishing the vessels used in the services, and maintaining all linens and the clergy’s vestments. Duties also include the ordering of supplies and reminding the congregation of fresh flowers for the altar.
We are blessed to have members who give of their time and dedication for God’s work. They serve 1 month twice a year. Anyone interested in this very rewarding and spiritual ministry is welcome and needed. Men are included. Guild members meet quarterly, the second Saturday of the month at 11:00 am.
